Herbal Tea Chains

Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Lori Weidehammer led us in a herbal tea chain workshop where participants learned to identify health-giving herbs, dried fruits and spices. While enjoying the pleasure of each others company, community members created herbal tea chains to take home to make their own infusions.

Herb drying workshop

Madame BeeSpeaker had two groups of students from the local elementary school create herb drying racks as a way to understand the role of herbs in culinary and medicinal practice. Students worked with herbs from Madame Beespeakers garden and the MOP garden as well as the Moberly Cultural Herb Garden. They were led on a meditative exploration of the Moberly Herb garden using their five senses, collecting a variety of their favortie herbs to add to their drying rack. Upon completion, they labeled each herb- comments included"did you know you could eat every one of these?"
